12 Hours in San Fran

I came up to San Fran on Tuesday for a quick 12 hour trip. RBC (Royal Bank of Canada), their Ibanking Division which handles all of the M&A and Funding Deals for hot technology companies. They were holding a little mixer in the city. The mixer contained about 60-100 executives and investors from the US.

I have a very nice relationship with the executives that started the Ibanking Division of RBC, so it was very nice of them to invite me to this event. I spent the 2 hrs speaking to many successful CEO’s that that have sold their companies, or brought them public.

I common theme with all the successful ceo’s was that they were nimble, focused, super passionate about their vertical and they were very very on top of SEO ahead of the ball game. In addition, every successful CEO was pretty much still involved in their company, and they were unsure of what was next.

Some trends that we discussed was that Ecommerce is coming back, and definitely on spotlight for a lot of investment firms. In addition it seemed to me their was SO many people in the EDU Lead Gen Space there. This is true.. In the last 3 weeks I have been introduced to a large number of edu lead gen firms that are “CRUSHING IT”

During this little event, I also spent time with a few executives who own larges Marketing Services Agenices. Ex; SEO / SEM

It’s interesting... SEO / SEM Agencies are a tough breed. Lots of overheard, and your servicing clients. It’ appears they are trying to figure out if they should go nuts and build their own in house properties.. This would make a lot of sense, and potentially bring in significant additional revenue. Kind of of what Tsavo.com is doing.

The group @ this event was mixed ages. From 25, 26 to about 60 yrs old. I wonderful blend of new and older energy. Most everyone was wearing a suit, including me.

Everyone agreed, the time to start a company and grow is now. M&A will pick up. Many companies will flourish. A few companies in SO Cal that we all know were thrown out there in a negative connotation. Just remember, simple is better. No need to re-invent something.. Or take component of something and put them together in to one company.

Clear Ex;

Twitter – A SIMPLE idea, SIMPLE! Founders believed in it.. Stuck to their marketing and they fucking CRUSHED IT and will succeed. Cost to build was far less than the bigger co’s out there, however they will have the biggest evalution

Mahalo – Great idea in terms of content play, and user experience, however nothing was re-invented. Al they did was mixed Google style search, with wikipedia, with Content Syndication, with Yahoo Answers and came up with MAHALO.com It can be a hit, or it can be a miss. The point is that they are trying to bring many things together in to one site. While something like Twitter was SOOO unique, unheard of, but a Phenomenal Idea.

Remember, Real Time is Huge, Targeted Marketing is Huge, Analyizing Behavior from different sources is huge. There is BIG potential to those who Nail it right now. Remember, invest in SEO! SEO! SEO!

There are a few more sites that was talked about, however ill leave it at the above.

Off to Vegas now for a Conference for 2 days, and then friends come out to enjoy the weekend. Soon I will write up about trends in the marketplace. What Co’s to look out for that will kill it, and those to stay far away from.

Hey Everyone..

This is my first blog post in a while. I used to write a lot back in the day.. Ha, the 2005 days..

Anyways, I am trying to figure out if people even give a shit on what I write, so please leave feedback or comments if you want me to write on a subject or if I shouldnt even waste my time.

1.5 Yrs have gone by since i have started two companies.

NeoHire.com is the exclusive recruiting company based in so cal, which helps hire the best tech & non tech talent for today's hottest .com's that are vc backed. NeoHire is awesome, our people are awesome and we are growing to a larger space right now.

ResumeBucket.com was an idea that came to my mind after being the in the Recruiting space for the last 5 yrs. I was sick of tired of people telling me to look @ their linkedin, and people telling me they will get me their resume later at night or in a few days.. Doesnt fly, espcially when a top company has a pipeline of other candidates. ResumeBucket went live in beta last December and has been growing and doing well :-)

Both companies take a LOT of time. NeoHire has about 11-12 employees, and Resumebucket has about 6.

We are busy, heads down, and just CRUSHING away. I have a feeling that this year is the year to get shit done. The yr to make things happen. The time to plant your seeds and one will sprout.

Besides NeoHire.com, ResumeBucket.com I have a team I am putting together to work on a few other projects, which include; FareHub.com ; a Customer Behavior Targeted Marketing Program Company, and a few more.

The' vc's and angels are concered that I am not focused on just one business unit. I think that they don't clearly understand that these biz units tie in with eachother. EVERY single one :-)

Plus, They think i have to be HANDS on with everything, this is wrong. I have the contacts, the ideas and the energy. I find the right people to take over the idea / or project then continue working on it from a advisory / higher level view.

Regardless, 2009 will be a great year, lots cooking and I think we will see many flourish and many scale. We will see if some of the larger media companies / .com's can figure out how to stay alive and make money and we will see the smaller smarter technology co's continue to grow.

Anyways, Life is good. Watch out for all those social media people out there.. MAny people self proclaim themselves and socialmedia experts.

Ill tell you who the rockstars are in the space.. They arent all talk, they are real and they DO know their Shit.

Startup Companies & The F*** economy

I just felt like writing this because I just had my team in a 1 hr meeting regarding recruiting, headhunting, building relationships and the future.

Clearly the US is fucked right now. Stocks are all over the place (I personally lost a SHIT load of money), consumers are selling everything and anything they can sell (Boats, Cars, Motorcycles, Houses, Vacation Houses, Phones, Office Supplies, etc..) Again great for those with booming businesses.

But, this is bad for many. One of my companies, NeoHire.com is a service provider type company, we provide internet startups with talent to help their companies endure accelerated growth.

NeoHire.com has done a remarkable job over the last year helping startups scale successfully.

Now, we are at a change.

Here is what's going to happen. Now, I was right on Ampd Mobile, I was right about Helio, and I was right on a few acquisitions price point #'s.

Here is what the deal is. Those companies who have raised 0-2.5m are the ones that will be moving and shaking. For those startups who are NOT profitable and depending on surviving off VC funding have a very very slim rate of surviving. They will be trimming staff, while trying to maintain traffic to site and maintain morale in the company. This issue is, by laying off people. maintaining traffic (SEO / SEM / VIRAL / PRESS) and trying to keep employees happy they are going to burn through their funding sooner that later, causing the less connected (BD) companies to flop. The larger shops that have raise 3m+ will have a very strong chance of surviving this depression.

Startups are cutting back on service providers, cutting talent internally to save funds, and executing "Smarter" and not faster.

If you have Money in the bank, now is the time to be prospecting smaller relevant shops and picking them up and a 2-4x multiplier.

The talent pool in California has become very attractive. At one time many people were making big big $'s and bonuses, now this is not the case. People are realizing not to be as stubborn.

You will see candidates coming from the internet industry and banking background who are ready and willing to take jobs at a discounted salary. This wont apply as much to the engineers, however to the non tech it does.

Here is what I advise to many looking for jobs and for startups...

Now is the time people (Companies) want to partner up, working on BD relationships and see how companies can leverage other companies resources to continue to operate and grow. Do those BD deals, do those traffic Distributions, and make things happen. For candidates, many are now wanting to only join More Established Companies, ones that are Large, Profitable, Money if Bank, Etc.. Maybe startups will find it difficult to lure hot talent, especially if it's being led by an entrepreneur with ZERO wins under their belt.

Be Smart, Be Efficient, do your research. Do your background references an follow your gut.

The strong will survive. Make sure to let the industry know you are here, you are keeping your head afloat.

LiveUniverse I am seeing attrition, not sure if they are rolling their acquisitions up properly.
We have a few lead gen players doing SUPER SUPER well with some healthy EBIDA
- Many people are making tons off Email still, multiple verticals around the financial services (credit, debt) and more...
Recent hot startups are starting to explode...
Magnify360.com , SupplyFrame.com and a few others about to rock.. .

Hot industry trend right now seeing who can OWN the fashion / Entertainment ad targeting network world.

Rubicon is making solid splash in the market, their performance is speaking loud, many big content portal are super pleased with their results.

Lead Gen remains to be a growing trend in the So. California market.

Impremedia launched their online portal, impre.com and plans to build out their online portal and branch in to lead gen across the Hispanic / Latino market both domestically and internationally.

Watch out for Blastro Networks who owns a few web properties to be up and coming...

In addition, we are seeing fall out finally from some Experian Interactive Executives... Also, Yahoo is paying top top top RSU's to retain their top talent.

Also, I am seeing further investments in the SAS / CRM / Software Space. We will see what this brings.

On my personal side, neohire.com is doing very well. We are a team of 8, and adding 2 more people to the team shortly, and looking for new office space in the Santa Monica area.

Concurrently, we keep adding features on to ResumeBucket.com (My Startup) which is heading the right direction. We have had multiple offers for funding, however we still have money in the bank, and plan on keep it strictly friends, family and angel only.

In addition, we are working on setting up a recruiting affiliate network. There will be two tiers, 1 cold referalls and warm refer alls where the user who is part of the affiliate network has the ability to make a nice chunk of change for leveraging their relationships and network.

I just want to bring this up again since I am dealing with an issue regarding an individual that is making a bad decision.

As all can agree, it is a very small world in this internet space. Especially the Southern California community.

People need to know, not to step on toes of those who have the power to make things happen and the contacts to help companies grow.

I just wanted to take time and remind people that peoples actions are closely followed, and references are all that people have.

In the end, work hard, get things done, and work things out like professionals. Never ever ever bit the hand that feeds you, or the hand that has the ability to make you win or lose.

2 Blackberry's in 72 hours

In the last 72 hours I have gone through two new blackberry's

Not sure if this is just me but the first one kept getting exception errors on the bb messenger and the second one the A button just stopped working..

I have a feeling that BB is cranking out way too many blackberry's and the production quality is not where it used to me..

I think im $1500 deep right now just in blackberry hardware.. God damment, too bad I am obsessed with these puppies or else I would try something else..

Just wanted to follow up regarding this post from Andrew Warner @ Mixery.com

As I pointed out in an earlier conversation, there is a lot of fluff out their in the industry.

There are an overwhelming amount of headhunters / recruiters in the internet space who cold call, headhunt and are ridiculously aggressive while trying to obtain new clients.

I spent the last 4.5 years doing the same with a different approach.

First, to clear the air.. I don't do this entirely for the Money nor as a a job, I do this for a hobby and a passion. NeoHire is built on relationships and success. We thrive off companies who want to grow, build and succeed.

I would rather have that pat on the back and be known for helping a company through the entire growing proccess rather than getting in and helping with one or two positions and then getting out.

I have trained my team that it's not about one or two deals, its about recruiting, its about all the introductions you can do for people, and it's all about learning. People need to understand it's a blessing to be surrounded and working with some of the most talented minds out there in the industry. We don't sign on every client we meet. We sign on clients that have a great business model, and ones that want to build a successful and exciting company.

Anyways, thanks Andrew for the great post and helping everyone understand most headhunters out their are all talk and aggressive.

A few tips for fast growing companies;

1. Make sure you don't have too many chefs in the kitchen.

Here are some answers to some of the questions.

1. Are you funded, how can I invest?
- We are funded via a private angel investor in the six figure range . We don't plan on taking in any funding until we launch version 2 beta.

2. How can i have access or use RB?
- No one will have access to the ResumeBucket Database. It is private. If a member of RB has a resume on the system, they can share it via a unique url, and thats where it ends. In addition, if you run boolean searches on any engine, you may also be able to pull resumes that way. Other than that, RB users will have the choice to make it private or public.

3. How does ResumeBucket.com & NeoHire.com go together?
Resumebucket will be a recruiting arm for Neohire.com
NeoHire only focuses on scaling privately held .com's & lead gen companies. ResumeBucket database will be used exclusively for NeoHire clients.

4. What is your revenue model?
There are a few rev models we have documented out in the design, however first version will not have any integrated. We plan to launch and make RB focus on growth.

"I've been reading a great book recently titled First, Break All the Rules: What the World's Greatest Managers Do Differently. I highly recommend it for anyone who manages employees, but it makes two great points early on that are especially appropriate for technology managers:

Treat your Employees Differently

You should treat your employees differently. Each has unique strengths, weaknesses, and differ in the way they learn and you should capitalize on that, not try to homogenize everyone. Sally might be an awesome systems architect, so you don't want to weigh her down pounding out mundane features. Bob might be the fastest developer and giving him those same mundane features makes sense. Steve on the other hand might be your more efficient debugger, etc.

They learn in different ways, some by reading, others by doing, and some need a more traditional classroom environment. Sending a do-er to a lecture class is a waste of everyone's time.

Don't Let Human Resources Get in the Way of Your Hiring

I've touched on this topic before, but you can't leave the resume collection and filtering process to your HR department. Even in our more tech savvy age, I still hear horror stories from programmers how they lost out on being interviewed for a job because the HR person didn't know J2EE or J2ME were 'Java', that Ubuntu is a Linux distribution, or that having 6 years of mod_perl experience probably means they know Perl pretty well.

A great technology manager has to hire a person based on several things, one of which is experience with a particular technology or technologies. But that's only part of it. Troubleshooting skills, breadth of experience in many technologies, personality and how this new hire will fit into the overall team structure are just as important. The worst possible case is when the manager is barely or not at all involved in the hiring process.

Now there are exceptions to this. The best example is my friend Josh Stomel who runs NeoHire. Josh is one of those rare recruiters that actually understands technology and more importantly knows when he doesn't know and has a huge network of geeks like me to ask questions. You can just hand NeoHire a list of qualifications and they will bring you back a group of top notch talent.

So it is possible to have HR deeply involved in the hiring process, it just has to be the right people. "

Funnny..

I just had a call, and this guy is the founder of a startup in Palo Alto..

So, they gave 3 positions to a recruiting agency up North..

Positions are pretty simple, Web Developers and Designers from the web 2.0 / 3.0 space. Ajax, CSS, etc.. the standard...

So, he's like.. Josh, this agency, which i know VERY well.. said they will fill them in no time, since they are simple web dev roles.. they said 4-5 days, it has been 4 weeks!

Here is the funny thing.. They are charging 30% of the first year's salary!

Wow, I know this is Palo Alto, but come on... I would just feel guilty.. Anyways.. I told him.. im sorry, and give me the positions, give me a 72 hours and 15 - 20% and ill make everyone happy..

The point is.. We are in a .com bubble..
Startups shouldn't have to pay 30% .. that is nuts.. they need to use that money to scale and build their company, that should be their focus.. not paying 30K a head for a web developer.. give me a break..

The whole point of startups and incubators is to save money, work hard, live cheap and go for the gold..

As we all hear out there, December is supposed to be the slowest month and one of the toughest months to get things done.

Companies trying to hit their numbers, companies planning on 08's outlook, people figuring out what is in store for next year... It is hectic..

Well, I wanted to say Good Luck to all. I truly believe there has been a substantial amount of activity in 07, much good and plenty bad. This year has taught many people and companies many lessons.

Lessons especially in the lead gen space. (Mortgage :-) )

Now people are all focusing on what to build out and scale in 08. I am so grateful to have input and transparency in to many great companies to see what they believe will be a solid 08 plan for them...

Ive been dying to talk about this over the last few days..

Last weekend I went out with my friend who is in the Celebrity PR space..

I found myself at a club in Hollywood called GOA

Now, this is just great.. We get there, meet up with Rod Stewarts son, meet up with emmy rossum, her b friend Siegel who owns a record label that britney spears and others are on...

So, this place is ridiculously exclusive.. Photographers outside the place like crazy and tons of a & b list celebs inside this place.. Soooo

I thought my personal friends were obsessed with their blackberrys.. HA...
Let me tell you...

Blackberrys are outta control within the celeb / entertainment space...

Now, here is the deal.. Im sitting at this large table with everyone, and here comes linsday lohan chilling at our table for a bit. These people don't care about you or others. All they care about is themselves and what the heck they are working on. They have no interest in learning or finding out about you..

It's funny, im around this table and clearly everyone knows almost everyone.. and Im this guy sitting here.. NOT ONE person asked what I do..
It's hilarious...

They dont ask, they don't suspect and they DONT care.. I was waiting for someone to ask me, who I know or what i do.. They would probably be a tad baffled if I told them I was a headhunter / connector in the .com space.. Probably would go over their heads..

Anyways, non stop iphones and blackberry's were whipped out..

Many of the conversations we were having had to be silent because they were about locations for where the next films was being shot.. etc....

They would communicate over bb messenger.. I mean, this was just nuts...

For example.. It was Ashley Simpsons b-day party that night, and we were all going to go.. However the location was supposed to be hush hust.. they don't even say it out loud.. they bb messenger this address to people in the club GOA wouldn't hear.. I guess there is a lot of hidden cameras and recorders in this place..

Anyways, LONG STORY SHORT

Blackberry are fucking amazing. They own Marketshare. Celebs, Business Execs, and MORE.

BB's are going to be around for ever..

Now, since I am the guy in the .com space.. I have been drafting out a way to monetize these people..

Blackberry's are unique. Each handheld has a PIN number associated with it. Only Blackberry's can communicate with blackberry's instantly via messenger with these pin numbers, and it works INSTANTLY world wide.

My brain is spinning and I am hitting the whiteboard to figure out how to tap this nice and nail it..

For those who still google my name and come across my blog, and those who randomly check in on my blog, I am writing this quick post for you.

Hope everyone is doing great.

I left my last company last week, and it has been extremely busy the last few days..

Pretty much launched; NeoHire.com which is my company that I am scaling where we will be servicing multiple startups and .com's doing a combination of Headhunting / Strategic Recruiting and Business Development.

As you can imgaine, the space is extremely hot right now, and I am trying to ramp up my support staff as the demand starts coming in..

I miss not having my desktop support staff to get all these desktops working smoothly!

So, having fun and busy doing that.. I am also working on my own web 2,0 startup which I will announce soon. This is going to be a good one. I have a couple other partners who are working on this project with me. This is within the Jobs / Resumes / Job Listings / Wiki arena...

so, thats what I have been up to for a bit now..

Life is extremely different when you are working for yourself, and building a support team underneath you...

You find yourself working a LOT of hours and not having much time for anything :-(

Next Chapter in my life...

So, here it is.

The time has come for me to part ways with something I have been working with for the last 2.3 years.

This something is Oversee.net

I left Yahoo Search Marketing / Overture back in September of 05 to join this phenomenal privately held internet company called, Oversee.net

Of course, people were in awe that I was leaving Yahoo, and turning away offers from MSFT and Google at the time.

But, this was my chance to get back in to something small, something private, and something that I believed had potential. With some brilliant founders, Fred and Lawrence, I knew that this is where I wanted my home to be for a long time to come.....

I joined oversee with full brute force. My goal and objective was to help them grow and scale by providing them with the strongest and most qualified talent in the industry, in addition to bringing some strong relationships of mine to the company.

2.3 years later, Oversee.net has achieved to make it as one of the FASTEST growing companies in Southern California.

Some additional awards include;

I just want to spend some time talking about this today.

Some people love talking about the industry and some hate it. (The .com space that is)

Me, Personally, I am obsessed. I have an overwhelming and ridiculous passion for knowing everything about every internet company. If something out there is incubating, and growing, I want to know, who is behind it. I want to know the winners and the do'ers out there. I find it fascinating listening to peoples ideas. Usually I have a very strong gut if something can work or not.

I can't over emphasize why it is so important for internet companies to bring the best of the best onboard.

Online companies need to bite the bullet and ramp up their companies with the top tier talent out there. The speed this market moves these days is crazy. If you don't bring someone onboard that can add value instantly (One directly from the competition or the industry), your company is going to be at risk of losing to competition.

The best talent within the best organization will win. That being said, you need to be connected and know the industry, and it's trends in order to make these deals happen.

You need to know, what companies are laying people off, what companies are outsourcing, what companies have shit work environments, and where are people frustrated.

By knowing all of that, your able to help shift help people grow in their career.

How do you find this info out? Know the space, know the landscape, know their competition, and network, network and network.

Go to conferences, go to developer conferences, have dinners, have b-fast's, do whatever it takes to build relationships.

Remember, you need to bring something to the table. Know your shit, and know what you can do.

I have such a passion for this industry. My purpose is to not only help companies win, but to help individuals grow in their life. I want to see people grow fast, learn, succeed and be part of winning companies.

Now is the time. There is an opportunity right now. The market is hot, the talent is hotter, and this space is only growing bigger. Remember, competition is out stuff right now. The winners are going to be the ones who listen, invest in technology, and have the contacts and the relationships to make this happen.

Okay everyone, this is something I am going to through out there.

Being in the .com space, we all know what a small world it truely is. You also understand how important it is to keep your network very warm and close to you. Spend time managing your tier 1 and tier 2 relationships.

So, I am putting a list together of all the .com's and startups in So Cal.

Here is something everyone needs to remember. Being a small world, you really need to watch out for your reputation. Forget background checks and reference checks that someone gives you. These days, you should be able to check out what mutual friends you have in the industry that are related to the candidate you are hiring.

It's quiet fun these days. For ex; I interviewed a high level individual. Looked good, talked big game, but I had a gut feeling about the person. I made 3-4 calls from people that I thought may of knew this person, and bam, these backdoor references were on target with my gut. it sucked for the candidate, but they didnt really know how I made that decision to turn them down.

Also, here is something that takes a LOT of balls to do, going from one .com to another competitor .com

This is something that KILLS ME!

With more money being injected in to Southern California, more startups, more VC Money, more angels, and more money to be made in the stock market, the conditions in this internet market is getting hotttttttttterrrr

More funding deals coming, more web startups, more facebook app companies coming out, more creative lead gen, more and new verticals coming out.

The get the best talent to join your team, you need a story, you need the $ and you the clear tale of where the light is.

This will be a extremely wild market over the next 1.5 yrs...

Nice job Targus on arranging the conference. This is the second annual conference for them and it was north of 200 people.

The growth of these shows reflect the high interest of that people are dedicated to the future growth and dedication within the lead gen space. Whether its Mortgage, EDU, Home Services and Auto. There is a plethora more of verticals that people are testing.

Heavy emphasis and discussions on creative ways to improve the consumer experience & user interaction part for capturing users. Plus offering more services and custom apps integrated in to landers for some larger clients.

While back in the prime mass volume lead gen days, clients (Lenders) were purchasing all leads, now it's a different ball game.

I think we will see people going deeper in to SEO over the next 1-2 years. Search Engine Optimization is key when capturing users. SEO combines a combination of a more educated consumer plus a better qualified lead.

Topic; Over the last 1.5 years, the market is becoming more saturated with internet & technology players throughout Southern & Northern California, which makes it difficult for smaller companies to grow & scale at the rate they would like; causing stress, frustration, disparity and potential shakeout.

What will happen while Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Yahoo continue to pay big salaries, give out options like it's candy? Will the smart continue to ride it out for the cash, or will they take a risk and taste some of the riskier yet potential higher return opportunities?

My blackberry is my lifeline. I know extremely sad, however i am sorry, with over 10K contacts, 7K emails, and worldwide functionality (qaudband) i am in love.

Interesting Lead Gen Portal... (WhiteFence.com & ZipRealty.com)

So, I bought a house. Yes, i am going to be a poor man.

Anyways, I discovered that ZipRealty had integrated www.whitefence.com in to their user interface & site design (It can be a little cleaner though)

This was amazing, had no idea that there were such sites as this.

WhiteFence.com is basically a complete lead gen portal for services such as; Time Warner Cable, Gas, Electricity, Yahoo DSL, ATT land lines, Newspaper, etc....

Now, remember these services are all over the place and the $/lead is probably extremely marginal, however if you can land some solid partners, especially w/ some of the latest up & comers, then you can have a pretty sweet revenue stream in the backburner.

Long story short, it's a solid idea if implemented properly.

I want to tell you what I HATE the most.

Myself, being a connector, the thing that irritates me more than anything is when people decline an introduction to network and / or chat about the industry.

I will give you an example.

I reach out to a VP of someone who joined a LEAD GEN .com in California. This person was brought in from a larger company. I gave them a call, and said, Hi, Im josh, just wanted to connect, say hello, and introduce myself. Now let me tell, this person was BEYOND rude.

This person makes up the excuse that they are not your typical .com person and they dont hop around every few years.. Wow.. I told this person, that regardless, I believe even if it's a competing company, at some day we will probably be working together.

Therefore, its a good thing to network and keep in touch.

The person was rude to me and that is someone I WILL NEVER forget about. Remember, what goes around, comes around.

I try to make time to chat & talk to everyone about my company / industry. Whether it's recent MBA students or Exec's from other industries. It's such a small world, don't step on anyones toes. You will notice down the line, there will be more cross functionality b/w diff industries.

The Power Of Funding & Connections..

It's late, I am sick, so i am just going to ramble a bit.

So, there are a few interesting companies out there who have some great technology, a great UI, and a great concept, however the people behind it don't have the contacts & / or the funding to really "kick it up" a notch.

Thus being said, I think there is room for someone who is well connected in the Internet / VC / Angel space to come in to these shops and assist them. Many times people expect A high $ contracting rate to facilitate and make these things happen, however the client (company) does not have the money to do so. Therefore, a % of equity, or s transaction fee would make sense for deals like these..

There are a couple solid ideas out there, but the founders & investors behind them are blind to the truth. They need to OPEN up and Trust people who "GET IT"

With this being said, if anyone wants to be in the loop on any interesting companies out there that can benefit by being connected to someone who has the contacts, let me know.

Although, I will tell you this. The second i get push back, or i feel that the founder has a big head behind there product, i usually put them right over my head and don't look back.

Advice, dont have such a big ego, and don't get to Cocky.. You can have the best idea in the world, but if you don't team up and partner with the people who can do it, then your just going to flop.

Now, I am too lazy to find my original 5 page post i did on Helio about 1 yr ago. Remember when i was talking about Helio, an the 3g network, and the target niche market for the 3g internationally vs. Helio's plan of attach domestically?

Well, my conclusion was that, Helio was trying to build the newest 3g network here in Southern California for their headquarters, and their target market was user bw the ages of 18 - 27, while in UK and germany it is the complete opposite target market.

Long story short, i gut was that Helio was going to burn through funding, it wouldnt pick up entirely, and they were not going to be able to scale their operations in Southern California. Can you imagine TMobile headquarters in So Cal? Aint going to happen.

So, i have this domain that attracts a lot of traffic on a daily basis, however I am not doing anything with it at this time.. Anyone brilliant care to build it out a bit?
